Philipp Schwartz Initiative for researchers at risk: stipends for German institutions
The Humboldt Foundation, together with the Federal Foreign Office and diverse foundations, offers stipends to German institutions wishing to host a researcher who is threatened by war or persecution in his or her country. Researchers will be granted full-time placements for 24 months to continue their work in a German Institution, extended funding is possible. This initially temporary programme was placed on a permanent funding Basis in 2018. The initiative offers full stipends to individual scholars as well as funding for Training Events and infrastructure. Women are encouraged to apply and currently underrepresented. Special conditions apply to scientists from Ukraine as of March 2022.
