Der "Individuals with Disabilities Education Act" (IDEA) ist ein amerikanisches Bundesgesetz zur Regelung der Bildung von Menschen (Kindern) mit Behinderung. Die allererste Version dieses Gesetzes entstand 1975 unter dem Titel "Education for All Handicapped Children Act (EAHCA)". Das Gesetz wurde seitdem mehrfach verändert, zuletzt im Jahr 2004. Diese Publikation des amrikanischen Bildungsministeriums von 2010 beleuchtet das Gesetz und dessen Auswirkung über die 35 Jahre seiner Existenz, von 1975 bis 2010. The "Individuals with Disabilities Education Act" (IDEA) is a U.S. American federal statute that regulates the (right to) education of people (children) with disabilities in the United States.The first version of this statute was adopted in 1975 under the title "Education for All Handicapped Children Act (EAHCA)". The statute has been amended several times since then, last in 2004. This report of 2010, published by the U.S. Department of Education, gives an account of the law and its effects during the 35 years of its existence, from 1975 to 2010.
